Name: Vanlanthiriel Yáviel, or just Thiriel ("beautiful waterfall")
Gender: Female
Age: 506
Physical Description: Thiriel is not extremely tall, but she's not short either. She stands at 5'6. Her body is quite slender, her weight being only 115 lbs. Her breasts are a decent size and she has curves. Her hair is long, going the whole way down her back, and is a dark blonde/light brown. Usually, she has it up, with her long bangs hanging around her face. Her eyes are big, brown, and rounded. Most of the time, her skin is a little pale. Her face is also rounded. Most people would consider her quite beautiful. Thiriel loves to wear French dresses.
About You: Thiriel has traveled quite a lot, so she is rather intelligent. She enjoys reading, drawing, art, theater, and music. She can play the shamisen (a Japanese stringed instrument-sort of like a guitar or banjo), shakuhachi (a Japanese bamboo flute), guitar, banjo, fiddle, harp, piano, and voice. Not only is she educated in music, but she can speak English, French, Irish/Gaelic, and Japanese fluently. Even though she's learned some things about Elves, she can only speak a few words in Elvish.
Thiriel is considerate and thoughtful to others, most of the time. If someone messes with her or she sees someone messing with someone else, she will step in and defend herself or that other person. She doesn't think it's right for people to give others a hard time because they're different or something. She believes everyone is equal and deserves to be treated with respect. That's exactly what Thiriel does, too. She gives respect where respect is needed. She is sympathetic towards others feelings, also. If she notices that someone is melancholy, she will try to cheer them up.
Even though Thiriel is skilled with weapons, she only uses them when necessary because she doesn't like violence. However, she has extraordinary sword and bow skills.
Ability/Disability: (Abilities)Since Thiriel has traveled to many places, she is fluent is English, French, Irish/Gaelic, and Japanese, and she is intelligent from all the studying. Speaking multiple languages can come in handy when she meets people. That way if they don't speak English, there's a chance she might be able to speak the language they speak. From all the traveling, she has made a good amount of friends. It also helps that she cares about people's feelings, and she is respectful to people who deserve respect. Thiriel is not only intelligent when it comes to language, traveling, and the arts. She is also very good with weapons. She can use swords and bows quite well. Her weapons consist of a bow and arrows, a katana, and a long sword. Thiriel is also good at martial arts and riding horses.
(Disabilities)Thiriel might have read a lot of books, but only ones pertaining to history. She's never read a book about romance, though some might think she should have. Whenever it comes to love, people could call her ignorant. She knows nothing about it. She's never really felt any of those emotions/feelings pertaining to romance: like love, happiness, sometimes jealously or embarrassment; or maybe the quick pitter patter of the heart, when the heart skips a beat, or your cheeks become hot with embarrassment. Yes, Thiriel has never been in love. She hasn't had any boy after her before; the poor girl hasn't even held someone's hand yet. It's sad, really. She's been too busy studying and such. Thiriel doesn't know what she's missing either. She doesn't think about love, what it could be like, how happy it could make her. If only she had someone to show her the real important things in life. Even if someone was to show his true feelings towards her, Thiriel probably wouldn't react very well to it. She just wouldn't know what to do or say. She might even become a little afraid if someone told her that he loved her, since she hasn't had any experience with that sort of thing. Also, she is a little too serious sometimes. Thiriel just doesn't know how to relax sometimes.
History: Thiriel was born in Paris, France in the year 1502. Both her parents were Elves, and respected ones at that, at least to other local Elves. The mortals there weren't really, well enthusiastic about Elves. For the longest time, her family and their Elven friends had to keep their true identities secret. It wasn't because they were ashamed of being Elves or anything like that. It was because of witch-hunts that went on back then. Too often, mortals confused Elves for witches because Elves had magic. They were afraid of 'witches', so they hunted and killed them. Most Elves back then kept their identities secret, because even though Elves are immortal, they can still be killed by fire and in battle, and such.
Thiriel stayed with her parents in Paris until she was twenty-five. Then, her and a couple of her Elven friends moved to London, England. When she was forty, she moved to Dublin, Ireland, and then to Edinburgh, Scotland. While she traveled around Europe, she studied. She read a lot of books, looked at different kinds of art (drawings and paintings), went to theaters, listened to different music, and talked to knowledgeable Elves. She learned about different countries and their histories. Then, she also learned about the history of the Elves. Before she had left her parents, they told her that she could never forget about what she was, that she had to learn as much as she could about their history.
Then, Thiriel moved to Osaka, Japan just after she turned two hundred ten, in 1716. She stayed in Japan the longest, until 1866 when she was three hundred sixty. During the time that she was there, she learned more about the past of her people. She also learned about the way of the samurai, and she became one (a samurai). While Thiriel was a samurai, she discovered how mesmerizing battle and weapons were.
About a year ago, Thiriel learned about Greenleaf's School from an Elf that she met while still in Japan. Quickly, she packed her bags and headed for the school. She was so excited because even though she had learned things about her race's history, she knew she hadn't learned everything. Thiriel was enthusiastic about being able to go to a school where she could study more about it. This is her first year.
